2012 Weaver Memorial Lecture: An Evening with Siddhartha Mukherjee
Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee talks about his research and his book, a landmark in the history of medicine, and especially on the biology of cancer, and history of cancer research.
I find it very enlightening, educational and of major interest for everyone; patients, patients' relatives, doctors, scientists and researchers.
I dedicate this post to my former adviser at the University of Manchester, recently retired from the The KNH Centre of biomedical and forensic aspects of Egyptology.
The reason is the publication where she says that "Cancer appears to be a modern disease created by modern life", and also Cancer is a modern, man-made disease caused by environmental factors such as pollution and diet, which are big nonsenses.
According to Dr. Mukherjee, cancer comes from ourselves,it is an 'organismal' disease, in which our own organism is affected by environment and also but mainly by our cell division.
